Clarice Cliff is regarded as one of the most influential ceramics artists of the 20th Century. Clarice Cliff was born on January 20th 1899 in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent. She started work at the age of 13 in 'The Potteries' and moved to the A J Wilkinson's pottery factory in 1916. Clarice was given her own studio and the famous 'Bizarre' wares launched in 1927. The factory continued to produce pottery bearing her name until 1964. |
